Should I learn poker to make money?

I think you are asking the wrong question here. You definely should learn to play poker, but because it´s a very fun game AND you can make a few bucks while playing it. Making the jump to professional poker (which can be like your local country club golf pro playing the U.S. Open or a local high school/college tennis champ at Wimbledon); it’s a move you should think about when you are consistently beating the game, not before you learn it.

Play a few times, read some books, play some more… and then, if you see that you have the wits and stomach for the swings and everything else, then think about going pro.

Doyle Brunson says playing poker professionally is a tough way to make an easy living, and that is pretty true…. you will have losing periods, bad runs… and being able to deal with that without messing up your game is as tough of a challenge as the game itself…

Hope you make it… for the few of us who did it is pretty fun!

Good Luck at the tables and maybe we will play together sometime.
