What is it like to live in the U.S?

Answer by Dan Holliday:

It's amazing. It's amazing not necessarily because of all the hyper patriotic "America! Fuck yeah!" nonsense. It's amazing because of something more important, and it's a thing I try never to forget: the level of prosperity, freedom, transparency, infrastructure, medical care, freedom-from-physical-suffering and information-on-demand is like nothing anytime in human history. If existing –from the dawn of humanity til today– were a lottery, and I could have ended up in any time (in history) or place (on earth), I won the mega-super Powerball. I won the jackpot. I'm so incredibly lucky that I cannot even really appreciate it the way I should, but I try.
